13 years ago today (January 3rd, 2009), Satoshi Nakamoto changed the world as he mined the genesis block and officially launched Bitcoin.
The new digital monetary system is now more valuable than all but 13 national currencies.
In the genesis block, Satoshi left a message stating, "Chancellor on Brink of Second Bailout for Banks," repeating a headline at the time during the 2008 financial crisis. The community may continue to speculate, it appears Bitcoin was created in direct response to the financial crisis, and distrust of the current centralized financial system.
There wouldn't be a crypto industry without Bitcoin, so thank you Satoshi! 🙏
