Lightning Network Goes Live on Cash App

Bitcoin Lightning Network went live on Cash App this month, although it is not yet available in NYC. The Lightning Network has quietly been undergoing major adoption, with El Salvador and Twitter all running payment channels through it. It's taken a few years for Bitcoiners to gain enough confidence and trust in the lightning network to begin using it, but now adoption appears exponential. For those who don't know, the Lightning network is a Layer 2 on Bitcoin that allows for nearly free and instant Bitcoin transactions.
