NIKE buys RTFKT

On Friday, NFT collectibles and fashion startup RTFKT announced on Twitter that the company had been acquired by Nike. One of RTFKT’s flagship products is a hybrid NFT/physical shoe collectible. One pair sold for over $3M back in March.

This is another sign of large companies expanding into the space of NFTs and blockchain.

RTFKT has an NFT collection called CloneX which has been surging on the news. You can see the collection.

“This acquisition is another step that accelerates Nike’s digital transformation and allows us to serve athletes and creators at the intersection of sport, creativity, gaming and culture,” Nike President John Donahoe wrote.
