Known as the Dogecoin killer, Shiba Inu was created in 2020 by an anonymous person called Ryoshi as a joke response to Dogecoin.

Ryoshi claims to own no SHIB tokens. Half of the SHIB tokens are locked in a liquidity pool while the other 50 percent was sent to Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin.

SHIB supports a number of utility elements like Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and even has its own decentralized finance (DeFi) platform called ShibaSwap. Its purpose is to make the process of crypto trading safe and secure while remaining decentralized.

Shiba Inu is also making progress in developing its Layer 2 protocol called Shibarium to add more utilities and make the trading process more economical.

Rappers Meek Mill and Snoop Dogg both bought Shiba Inu in 2021 and triggered a rally in the price. We’ve also seen Soulja Boy's love for Shiba Coin on Twitter.
